“Building a Lasting Legacy”
The Langley School District aims to recognize the outstanding achievements and significant contributions coaches have made to both their sport and athletes in the District. The selection of recipients is based on their contribution to sport through continuous development and does not reflect the accomplishments of a coach in any one year; rather are designed to recognize their contributions over a significant period of time.
Difference Maker Award (Jim Ehman Memorial)
This award is awarded in recognition of an individual who has coached for a minimum of ten years. The nominated coach is someone who has exemplified the Langley School District’s core values of Integrity, Courage, Community and Excellence throughout their coaching career. They have made a significant difference in the lives of students, staff, and the school community.
Wall of Distinction Award
This award is open to retired coaches with a minimum of 20 years coaching experience. The nominated coach is someone who exemplified the Langley School District’s core values of Integrity, Courage, Community and Excellence. They have influenced the development of players and new coaches, and demonstrated evidence of program building that has resulted in leaving a lasting legacy. Furthermore, the nominee’s coaching style has proven to be ethical, demonstrated sportsmanship, and has always shown positive game behaviour.

The Builder Award
This award recognizes an individual who has been a visionary for Langley athletics. Someone who has played an instrumental role in the evolution, growth and building of athletics in the Langley School District and has created a lasting legacy for the future.
