WGSS students use tech to help kitten
September 25, 2015

Students at Walnut Grove Secondary used a 3D printer and some imagination to build a wheelchair for an amputee kitten. The TinyKittens Society, a volunteer-run care group recovered the kitten over the summer after it had been badly injured. The kitten’s daily life is monitored by a web cam on the society’s Facebook page and was spotted by a Clerical staff person at WGSS who told one of the teachers there. Grade 12 students Josh Messmer and Isaih Walker then set out to design a kind of wheelchair for the kitty using 3D modelling software and a 3D printer they have used in class.
