Langley student winner of Rotary International Adventures in Citizenship Award
February 5, 2016
Jordyn Laird was the only student sponsored in Langley to take part in the Rotary International Adventures in Citizenship Awards and was provided an all-expenses trip to our nation’s parliament buildings to meet with other young people and leaders of our country. Learning about democratic operations with political leaders – including a meet with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau – the students get a big picture view of what it means to be a Canadian citizen and the privileges and responsibilities that go along with that. Jordyn was chosen based on her essay entitled “What Does Being a Canadian Citizen Mean to You?”
