French Immersion and Core French students represent their schools at District’s annual French language speaking competitions
April 24, 2017

We congratulate 47 of our French Immersion and Core French students who represented their schools at our District’s annual French language speaking competitions hosted at Noel Booth Elementary and Brookswood Secondary on April 4th & 5th. Judges were impressed by the wide range of topics presented and had a difficult time deciding on finalists in 13 categories who will go on to represent Langley at the provincial event on May 6th. Our students are to be congratulated for their dedication and courage in researching, writing, editing, and presenting an original composition of personal interest. All the speeches were highly engaging – some were serious, others personal; several were locally relevant and contrasted with topics of global significance, while others were humorous. Competitors were also evaluated on their ability to respond to impromptu questions from the judges.
Representing Langley will be: Brett W and Sarah D. (Noel Booth) Maya M, Kelsey Y and Ève B (James Kennedy), Alexa U, Taylor P, Alex L, Hannah B, Brandon G and Ashley H (Brookswood), Lina S (WGSS) and Rina H (RE Mountain).
We especially appreciate our team of dedicated judges and Concours supporters: Mme Clelland, Mme St Pierre, Mme Mulski, Mme Therrien, M Proulx, Mme Saelieng, M Briand, Mme Inoue and Mme Legentil.
