A Message from the Board of Education: Welcome Back
September 7, 2022
On behalf of the Langley Board of Education, we want to extend a warm welcome to our returning students, new students, staff, and families. We hope you all were able to have a healthy, safe, and fun summer break and are ready to start the new school year. September is always a busy and exciting time in the education system. It’s a time for a fresh start and establishing goals. As a Board, we are looking forward to continuing to focus on improving student learning. Along with education, health and safety continues to be our priority. We acknowledge that COVID-19 remains in the community. We want families to rest assured that the District will continue to follow provincial guidelines to ensure our students and staff are working together in a healthy, safe, and positive learning environment.
During the break, many of our District staff were at work getting our sites ready for school start-up. Some special projects at our schools include the installation of playgrounds, new murals, gym flooring, and other upgrades. We want to thank our Facilities and Maintenance, Information Technology, and School Board Office staff for their collective efforts behind the scenes in helping improve our learning spaces. We are proud to be part of an innovative, inspiring and unified learning community.
On behalf of the Board, we wish everyone an amazing 2022-2023 school year filled with joy and success.
Thank you,
Rod Ross, Chair
Langley Board of Education
