8 Schools Unplug Before Unwinding
December 14, 2015
Eight Langley School District schools are participating in an energy conservation project called Unplug before you Unwind this holiday season. Basically, students are making sure that all electronic equipment around the school is unplugged before the Christmas break as they will not be used for a couple of weeks and this will reduce ‘standby’ power consumption. The students are participating at school but learning how to save energy at home as well. Not many people realize that appliances and devices that are “off” may still be drawing power. For more information visit Standby Power – When “Off” Means “On” from Natural Resources Canada.
Participating schools are Brookswood, Fundamental Middle/Secondary, Walnut Grove, DW Poppy, Belmont, Fort Langley, Richard Bulpitt and Willoughby – way to go!
