Yorkson Creek Gets Game with Vancouver Giants Ticket Donation

October 11, 2019

Vancouver Giants fans at Yorkson Creek Middle School received a welcome surprise on Thursday morning. The Giant’s Adopt a School Program, where a community partner purchases and donates game tickets for an elementary or middle school, had chosen Yorkson Creek as their beneficiaries.

Twenty-six pairs of tickets, fifty-two total, were donated to the school along with a hockey stick signed by the entire team. This treasure trove is meant to be awarded to kids who show leadership in their lives and in their school.

“We’re trying to inspire children to be really positive role models with their health, really hard workers at school, being a good community person and helpful to others, and being a Giant at home,” says Giants’ Community Ambassador, Brian Davidson. “The qualities that we see in hockey players, mirrored out of the qualities we’d love to see out of our youth tomorrow: being a committed individual, being a great teammate to everyone.”

For the hand-off, Giants’ mascot, Jack, along side the Yorkson Creek Mascot, Timber, visited the school. They even stopped in to say ‘hi’ to long time Giants fan, Mrs. Cloutier’s class to share the excitement. Though, she came prepared with her jersey and bell, which she rings every time she goes to watch a game.

Yorkson Creek was one of a few Langley schools highlighted by the Adopt A School program. Richard Bulpitt and Willoughby Elementary were also on that list.

Thank you, Vancouver Giants for helping support our kids!
