Christmas pancakes support year-round breakfast at DWP
December 23, 2017
On the doorstep of DW Poppy, where the bus drops off, a row of griddles were cooking fresh pancakes. Langley Lions Club members spent their morning mixing batter, cooking pancakes and frying sausage for the annual DW Poppy Christmas breakfast. Even Santa made a visit, greeting kids at the door and handing out candy canes.
A live band serenaded the meal goers with Christmas classics on trumpet, flute, and cello. The cafeteria was jam-packed with students, parents, and kids, the line for breakfast wrapping around the outside of the room towards the door.
The event was by donation, with proceeds going towards the DW Poppy’s Breakfast Program which feeds upwards of 130 students every morning.
